Schlanser Glass Bowls, Platters and Vessels

In the early 80's, stained glass artist Stephen Schlanser began experimenting with other glass art forms. That curiosity evolved into a career of designing and creating kiln shaped art glass sculptures in the form of glass bowls, vases, and platters.

His Pasadena Studio is an inventive hub of the many kiln-slumped glass vases, platters, and bowls that are known today throughout the United States. Each piece is carefully shaped, polished and ground, and embellished with sand-carved designs before it is signed and dated. The studio is currently a supplier to the White House. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II calls a Schlanser bowl her own.

Other recipients and collectors include Benjamin Netanyahu, Hu Jintao of China, President Aquino of the Philippines, President V. Putin, former President Bill Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton, the Crown Prince of Dubai, Oprah Winfrey, Quentin Tarantino, and Bill Cosby among others. Corporate commissions include Cisco Systems, Intel, Volvo, Lexus, Toyota, Hyundai, Coca Cola, Crystal Cruises, Tournament of Roses, and many more.

Creating beautiful art and being able to share it with others is what gives Mr. Schlanser and his craftspeople pleasure.
